Rico Monaco signs worldwide distribution
and publishing deal with the CdA
Group!
After months of negotiations, CdA Group President Ivan Alvarez signed the deal with Rico Monaco and Ricmon Music which covers the entire Rico Monaco catalogue. Initially brought together by old friend and management/agency empresario John Regna (Alan Parsons Project, Nazareth, Electric Light Orchestra P2, Maria Conchita Alonso, Dionne Warwick and many others), the new partnership will kick off with the release of the new Rico Monaco Band CD “Genre Bending” in March 2013.

Initially brought together by old friend and management/agency empresario John Regna (Alan Parsons Project, Nazareth, Electric Light Orchestra P2, Maria Conchita Alonso, Dionne Warwick and many others), the new partnership will kick off with the release of the new Rico Monaco Band CD “Genre Bending” in March 2013.
Mr. Alvarez founded CdA Group in 2006 after 10 years as Senior Vice
President Universal Music Publishing
Latin America. He has education degrees in Entertainment Law, International
Business, Finance and Accounting. He
also owns the Studio 270 Recording Studio.
His company was created with an eye
on the future of the music business after years as an executive in the record label industry
of the past. “I am a huge fan of Rico’s
brand of guitar driven rock and
the opportunity to release Genre Bending while being able to mine his back catalogue
is exactly the kind of relationship
we like. When I heard their take of Led Zep’s “Gallows Pole”, I knew I was in.” says CdA founder
Ivan F. Alvarez about the new deal. “We
think we can get this music out there both digitally
and with synchs based on its quality and
style.”
Rico Monaco’s brand of
red hot rock with Latin and World
influences has not gone unnoticed
before. In fact, Rico just came back
from performing for the 4th time at The Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where he played at the invitation of Sammy Hagar (Sammy Hagar, Van Halen) for his Birthday Bash. Rico rocked
the packed house and has jammed
many times with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony (Van Halen,
Chickenfoot) at the Cantina. In Sammy’s own words,
“Rico Monaco & his band
are serious musicians who won a National Battle
Of The Bands in 2002 sponsored by Cabo Wabo & Hard
Rock Café. I personally chose them & have had
the pleasure of jamming with Rico on many occasions at the Cabo Wabo Cantina. From Van Halen to Santana, Rico Rocks!
- Sammy Hagar. Hagar’s
belief in Rico has also lead to the Sammy’s
Beach Bar Rum brand (owned by Hagar) to sponsor the Rico Monaco Band tours.
